Herbs for Health and Spiritual Upkeep: Making Tea Together
Part of the Urban Indigenous Collective’s Food is Medicine Series
Join us for Workshop 3: Herbs for Health and Spiritual Upkeep, where we will gather in community to explore the healing properties of herbs and the spiritual practices surrounding tea. This hands-on workshop, facilitated by Iron Path Farms, will guide participants in making and tasting herbal teas while connecting to ancestral knowledge of plant medicine.
What to Expect
- Hands-On Tea Making: Create and taste a variety of teas that support the nervous and digestive systems, including tulsi, mint, lemon balm, calendula, and chamomile
- Learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of herbs grown and harvested through Iron Path Farms’ rematriation land project
- Discussion: Explore how our senses respond to different teas and how emotions such as stress, joy, anxiety, pleasure, and trauma manifest in our bodies
- Practice: learn some somatic exercises and meditations to help center and restore balance and healing healing path
- Take-Home: Participants will receive their custom tea blend and instructions for home use.
