Andrew Barnes, a Sensory Support Office from Deafblind UK will explore the definition of deafblindness and the impact it can have on someone’s life. The day will include some practical skills for when you are interacting with someone who is deafblind. By the end of the day, you will be able to:
- Understand the definition of deafblindness as used in the Care Act 2014
- Demonstrate an understanding of the practical and emotional impact of deafblindness
- Use some practical skills in communicating and guiding a person with acquired deafblindness
