Understanding Barriers to School Attendance
Join us for an insightful event with accredited counsellor and anxiety expert Angela McMillan, where we will explore the various obstacles that prevent young people from attending school.
This training will show you ways to offer holistic, low-demand therapeutic support to young people and their carers, wherever they are on their education journey.
Come to 43 Charles St and be a part of this important conversation.
Let's work together to find solutions to ensure every child can thrive.
We will cover:
- What school attendance difficulties are.
- Risk factors and warning signs.
- A practical assessment process to help you get to the heart of what’s happening.

- Ways to reduce anxieties and increase self-esteem
Through following the journey of Saskia, a fictional young person and her struggles with school attendance you will discover new and innovative ways to assess, support and engage young people.
