About this Event
Supporting patients in recovering from relational trauma is one of the most demanding aspects of counseling and mental health work. The challenge becomes even greater when patients lack a critical foundation: a stable and secure relationship experience.
Without these nurturing and consistent attachment relationships, trauma recovery can be significantly hindered. Patients may struggle with emotional regulation and find it harder to establish a trusting connection with you, which is essential for facilitating their healing.
So, what exactly makes attachment experiences so powerfully protective? And how can we effectively support clients who have been deprived of such vital relationships?
This workshop has been designed to explore these and other related questions pertinent to healing from relational trauma.
We will:
- Review Attachment Theory, the stages of attachment, and attachment styles
- Discuss the implications of the attachment experience
- Explore strategies for working with a client’s attachment history to help them heal from trauma
