Workshop to take place in-person at United Way Winnipeg (580 Main Street)
Cost to register: $80 per person
In today’s fast-paced and results-oriented world, it is essential for nonprofit and charitable organizations to effectively measure their impact, track progress, and optimize program delivery.
United Way Winnipeg’s Nonprofit Learning Centre is pleased to partner with the Canadian Evaluation Society, Manitoba Chapter to bring you a six-part workshop series on evaluation tools. Each workshop is designed to provide nonprofit professionals with the practical skills and knowledge needed to design, implement, and analyze high-quality evaluations. Each session is independent, so participants can choose to attend the workshops most relevant to their needs. Whether you're new to evaluation or looking to enhance your current practices, this series will equip you with the tools to make data-driven decisions and demonstrate your organization’s effectiveness.
Workshop Overview
Participants will learn the definition and use of quantitative research methods, the roles this approach can play in evaluation, and how to identify the correct application of quantitative research methods for projects. Participants will have the opportunity to work through examples.
Facilitator
Paul Simpson MA, CE
A partner at Prairie Research Associates (PRA), Paul has accumulated extensive experience in and knowledge of evaluation and performance measurement over the years. He came to work at PRA during his post-secondary studies and subsequently stayed with us, making a tremendous contribution to the firm. He also became a Credentialed Evaluator along the way.
Paul has managed a wide variety of evaluation and related assignments in various subject matter areas and for a range of clients, including municipal, provincial and federal government organizations as well as non-profit organizations.
Paul’s background in economics and advanced skills in quantitative analysis make him one of those rather rare individuals comfortable with statistical and econometric methods, as well as large administrative and survey datasets.
For several years, Paul has honed his qualitative research skills as well, conducting hundreds of key informant interviews and dozens of literature and document reviews, facilitating focus groups and designing and administering surveys. An expert at converting evidence into meaningful insights, he has presented findings to a range of decision-makers.
