Newly restored Constitution Hall Topeka proudly presents a symposium exploring western routes of the Underground Railroad, including the Lane Trail. The event is co-sponsored by Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area and the Shawnee County Historical Society.

10:00 am to 11:30 am
A morning gathering will facilitate networking and collaboration among stewards and advocates of historic sites connected to the western Underground Railroad.
1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The afternoon program for the public will include presentations from
• historians Diane Miller and Todd Mildfelt;
• Darryl Hogan, a descendant of Sam and Jane Harper who were part of "the 12" that John Brown escorted from the territory on his last trip east; and
• experiential historian and heritage tourism professional Anthony Cohen.
Following the program, the public will be invited to enjoy refreshments while exploring the newly preserved building as well as a special exhibit of photographs from Stephen Marc's Passage on the Underground Railroad of sites associated with the Lane Trail.
The program is free to the public. For planning purposes, we require that you pre-register to attend. Please complete the form for each individual planning to attend.
