UND President Andrew Armacost, the morning's host, will moderate a panel featuring UND faculty member Eric Murphy and student Utkarsh Gupta. Hear their journeys as entrepreneurs, and learn about various local resources!
Eric Murphy, UND Faculty Member:
A native of Bucyrus, Ohio, Eric lived in a wide variety of communities ranging from San Marcos, CA to Gaithersburg, MD. He chose to relocate to Grand Forks to join UND SMHS in the summer of 2000. He is a lipid neurochemist who studies fatty acid metabolism in the brain. But a lifelong problem with cramping led to inventing Krampade to solve that problem. Krampade makes advanced sports nutrition products for the athlete and non-athlete focused on enhanced dietary potassium intake. Murphy also serve as a legislator for Dist. 43.
Utkarsh Gupta, UND Student:
Utkarsh is a cognitive neuroscience postdoc research fellow at the University of North Dakota. He is also the founder of Neurogether Ventures LLC, a single batch venture studio registered in the state of North Dakota, and it is a certified primary sector business. The aim of the venture studio is to build and support portfolio startups to create services and products for senior healthcare backed by neuroscientific innovations. His entrepreneurial and research interests focus on identifying strategies to enhance memory and learning. His approach includes the use of virtual reality, neuro-electrophysiology, neuromodulation, and potential brain computer interface applications.
