About this Event
In this session we will discuss Wasteland by Oliver Franklin-Wallis, a book that explores the global waste crisis and the opaque business behind it. Through his journalistic work, the author takes us up close to see how the mountains of waste produced by our society are managed (and concealed), and the human and environmental consequences of this invisible system.
The session will be coordinated by María Urquiza.
Spots available: 20 per session
Price: €5 (we offer 5 subsidized spots per session - email [email protected] if you need one).
About #uncomfortablebooks
With this club, we want to step out of our comfort zones and read books that make us confront uncomfortable, sometimes dark topics—topics that we might find daunting or feel reluctant to face, but that we believe are necessary to explore. We hope to come out of these readings, if not transformed, then at least a little less ignorant.
Each month, we will select a book that explores an uncomfortable but necessary topic, available in both Spanish and English, and we will organize two gatherings—one in each language.
Shall we step out of our comfort zone together?
