About this Event
Greenwich House Music School is pleased to present Sirintip as part of its 11th annual Uncharted Concert Series, part of the Baisley Powell Elebash Artists in Residence Program.
Sirintip is a truly global artist whose work seamlessly merges diverse disciplines and cultures. Born and raised in Thailand, she later moved to Sweden to study music. Eventually, she made her way to New York, where she established herself as an electronic-influenced alternative Jazz singer, composer, and producer. Describing herself as a “research artist,” Sirintip is driven by an insatiable curiosity, seeking to answer profound questions through her music.
Her latest project, Mycelium, is an interdisciplinary suite performed by a nine-piece ensemble, three dancers, and visual projections. Sirintip spent two weeks aboard a research vessel in the North Pacific, collaborating with scientists studying plankton and fungi. This immersive experience allowed her to draw fascinating connections between the microscopic world of microorganisms and the larger narratives of human society. In another project, , she explored the impact of environmental change by sampling plastic waste to create rhythmic tracks and translating NASA’s climate data into striking musical representations of global temperature rise.
For her Uncharted performance, Sirintip is developing a piece that investigates how emotion is physically stored in the body. Her work continues to evolve, blending art, science, and technology in ways that invite audiences to reconsider the world around them.
