Librarian Emma Norden will showcase some of the Elm City’s ambitious plans that never materialized, many from the late 20th century. Ideas included communities in the harbor and a proposed highway plan that could have altered New Haven in unthinkable ways! Discover how our “model city” might have been completely different.
The Whitney Library in the New Haven Museum is open to anyone interested in the past of the city of New Haven. With tens of thousands of documents, books, and archives, the Whitney Library is the most expansive collection of New Haven texts in the city.
