Flux & Pointe is a collaborative performance ensemble led by musician Kelley Gant and choreographer/ballet dancer Arianna Hughlett. The group’s mission is to create new dance works in conjunction with new, improvised music that broaden the scope of what ballet can be.On November 8 and 9, they will make their official debut as an ensemble and perform an evening-length work titled Unbound. The piece features a fully improvised score composed of live vocals by Kelley Gant and trios, duets, and solos–both choreographed and improvised–by dancers Arianna Hughlett, Molly Cook, and Ashley Moehlenhoff. Unbound explores an artist’s relationship with their instrument and the perplexing ways in which all people perform.
