Unapologetically African: Freedom Friday at the Washington Center
Join us on the front lawn of the Washington Center for a special edition of Freedom Friday, Unapologetically African. This family-friendly event will celebrate African culture through food, music, art, and storytelling, hosted in partnership with Dr. Ariri Onchwari and local African leaders.
Come enjoy BBQ and delicious tastes of African cuisine, explore cultural activities for youth and parents, and vibe to music that brings the whole neighborhood together. Expect art stations, games, and powerful storytelling that celebrates our roots and brings people together around shared traditions and joy.
Bring your appetite, your people, and your love for community. No need for a ticket, just pull up, eat good, and be part of something real.
Education and Activities kick off at 2PM in the Youth Center.
Official Freedom Fridays begin at 5PM enjoy music, activities, food, and great company.
