About this Event
IDPWD aims to promote and celebrate the rights and well-being of disabled people in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of their situation in every aspect of life.
Every year, the Department for Communities delivers a celebratory event as part of IDPWD to highlight the positive contribution Deaf and disabled people make, and to encourage and foster their increased participation in all aspects of society. To mark the occasion this year, we are partnering with Disability Action NI and Mencap to deliver an event at the South Lakes Leisure Centre, Craigavon.
South Lakes Leisure Centre is fully accessible, and the services of a Deaf relay, Irish Sign Language and British Sign Language interpreters will be available to attendees throughout the event. In addition, the Disability Action Transport Service (DATS) service will be available for attendees travelling from Belfast.
