100km, 24 hour challenge event based in the Yorkshire Dales starting and finishing in the village of Grassington.
There will also be a 50km option, which will be open to walkers as well as runners, and a 25k open to runners and walkers.
Previously known as The Yorkshire Trod, a self-navigated event with no way markers and few marshals so map reading, navigation skills and experience on the fells is a requirement of entering this race and you are agreeing to this rule when entering.
The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales will have a GPX for the 100k, 50k and 25k. Those who wish, still have route choice between each Checkpoint so long as the Event Rules are followed in terms of out of bound areas. See Rules on our website.
The 25k is a fixed route and the gpx must be followed.
******NEW FOR 2025***** ---- *****100k RELAY*****
Relay Teams - New for 2025 we are opening up a Relay category for the 100k. Relays will be teams of minimum 2, maximum 3 with change over legs at designated check points.
Leg 1 - Grassington - Buckden 22 miles
Leg 2 - Buckden - Burnsall 17 miles
Leg 3 - Burnsall - Grassington 22 miles
Only these change over locations are allowed. If you have a 3 person team, The change overs are Buckden and Burnsall, If you have a 2 person team, you decide which runner has the longest leg. Which will be either Leg 1 and Leg 2 for Runner 1 and Leg 3 to Finish for runner 2 , or Leg 1 for Runner 1 and Leg 2 to Finish for Runner 2.
Leg 1 Runner must register in Grassington at the usual 100k registration times. Other relay runners for leg 2 and 3 will register at their change over location with the marshals and collect their tracker as their team runner arrives.
The route is the same route as the full 100k but mandatory checkpoints for the hand over. One tracker will be issued per team and the Tracker is the ‘Baton’ The tracker must be handed to your next runner, attached to the runners bag and checked by a marshal before the next leg is started.
Runners are responsible for logistics between locations. No transport is provided to get runners to the start of their leg or collected from the end of each leg. Buses run from Buckden to Grassington. You can find a timetable here https://www.dalesbus.org/skipgras.html and there is a National Park Car Park in Buckden.
Burnsall is limited on car parking so we suggest one car per team only in Burnsall.
Checkpoints are the same as the full 100k. All checkpoints must be visited by the relay runner and report their number to the marshals. Extra water and snacks will be available in Buckden and Burnsall for the finishers of leg 1 and 2 relay runners. All runners from each leg will be welcome at Grassington Devonshire Institute for a hot meal and drinks after their leg.
