Have you ever watched Motor Trend's "Ultimate Adventure" before? Have you ever wanted to be part of something like that? Well, we can but in small RC scale. Watch an episode of Ultimate Adventure here:
The concept: 15 to 20 experienced top-notch drivers (as in: you drive it like you are in it) and cool and capable 4x4 vehicles of either 1:8 to 1:12 scale (as close to 1:10 scale as possible) - NO GI JOES - and you submit your "Driver Biography (pretend you are a driver on the show) and photo(s) of your rig to [email protected] to be accepted. We will review and select who takes part in the first of 3 of these events that will take place this summer.
The event itself begins at the 17th ave parking entrance to the bike path at Harvey Passage East Side at 7pm on Friday. We drive up the bike path all the way to the rocks (to simulate highway driving). Then we will spend some time on the rocks and eventually head down the dirt paths back to the lot. Sunset is at 9:20 pm so we will be using our vehicles lights on the way back. PLEASE BRING HEAD LAMPS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!
You cannot crash the event and join us. You can however be a spectator and come along to watch or assist a driver as their co-driver to help winch and so forth.
Saturday at 11am begins day two of the event in which case we drive the same course but in reverse and finish in the parking lot around 3pm with a tailgate BBQ.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: THIS IS NOT SANCTIONED BY THE CITY SO WE DO STAND A REMOTE CHANCE OF BEING STOPPED. NOT LIKELY BUT THE CHANCE IS THERE. ALSO, ALCOHOL AT THE EVENT IS ON YOU. I SEE NOTHING, I HEAR NOTHING, I KNOW NOTHING. THAT SAID... WE BEHAVE WELL, WE RESPECT THE LAND... AND ALL SHOULD BE FINE.
Being an event SPONSOR: At present, Action Hobby is in which guarantee's they get to drive (Pat and Kiara). As for what they bring for you... don't expect much. I told them to bring whatever they want. It can be as little as stickers or swag or more if they like. So, as a sponsor yourself... if you bring even a little to the table for the drivers, then you are automatically in. The idea is to get as many sponsors as we can and I will hopefully generate a great video(s) and by 2025 we can get big sponsors involved in this event because we have shown proof of concept. At the moment, this is all an test run and I need you to help bring it to life and make it a big deal event series that folks from out of town are willing to come to.
So, send in your bio and pics to [email protected] and we will begin to review the submissions and have selections made as soon as possible. If you are not chosen, you might well get chosen for the 2nd event which will take place probably in June/July time frame. I plan to run 3.
