Exploring the deep connections between composers and folk music; from Bartók’s passion for Hungarian melodies, Bloch’s blending of Jewish music, to Vaughan Williams’s love for English traditions, this concert celebrates the rich history of folk-inspired orchestral works.
You’ll hear some beloved folk-inspired music, along with a rare performance of Dvořák’s Legends — a contemplative masterpiece reflecting on the lives of saints.
The Orchestra welcomes Rolf Verbeek to the podium, and the Orchestra’s Cello Section Leader Thomas Isaac performs as featured soloist.
