Open Mat Rules: Ulemu Fight Academy
Welcome to our Open Mat sessions! These sessions are designed to promote learning, growth, and respectful exchange between athletes. By participating, you agree to the following rules:
1. Respect is Mandatory
Treat all athletes, coaches, and staff with respect at all times.
No discrimination, harassment, or unsportsmanlike behavior will be tolerated.
Follow the instructions of the supervising coach or staff member immediately.
2. Safety First
Control your intensity. This is not competition or fight camp sparring.
If you have an injury, notify your training partners before starting.
Stop immediately if your partner taps or verbally submits.
Dangerous slams, neck cranks, and any illegal or reckless techniques are strictly forbidden.
3. Hygiene & Gear
Arrive clean and with trimmed nails.
Wear appropriate grappling attire (rashguard, shorts, gi if applicable).
No shoes on the mats.
4. Consent & Communication
Always agree on the level of intensity before starting a round.
Respect your partner’s boundaries - no forcing anyone into unsafe positions or rolls.
5. No Ego, No Exceptions
The purpose is to train, share knowledge, and improve - not to dominate or injure others.
If you cannot control your ego or intensity, you will be asked to leave.
6. Consequences for Infringements
Minor infractions: Verbal warning.
Major or repeated infractions: Immediate removal.
Serious misconduct or endangerment of others will result in a permanent ban from Ulemu Fight Academy and if necessary legal prosecution.
