It's Ula After Dark -- our special after-hours events series to bring the community together around good culture and great food.
On Friday March 7th and in partnership with international women's travel community , we're gathering to celebrate International Women's Day (March 8) and Women's History Month with a film screening of Wadjda (2012)! We'll have the full menu available (plus beer and wine!) so you can have dinner and drinks while enjoying movie night. Plus, Wanderful members will get a free cookie

About the Movie
Wadjda (2012) is a Saudi Arabian drama about a spirited 10-year-old girl who dreams of owning a bicycle despite societal restrictions on women. Directed by Haifaa al-Mansour, the film follows Wadjda as she enters a Quran recitation competition to win the prize money, showcasing her determination and challenging traditional gender norms in Saudi Arabia. It was the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabi and the first feature-length film made by a female Saudi director, and has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.
Join Us for Our Three-Part Series

For three Fridays in February and March (Feb 21, Feb 28 and March 7) we'll be hosting programming at Ula Cafe for our community to celebrate Black History Month and Women's History Month! Join us for movie screenings, community dialogue, and an opportunity to connect more closely with your neighbors.

Friday, February 21: Screening of "Rustin" (2023), a biographical drama about Bayard Rustin, the openly gay civil rights activist who played a pivotal role in organizing the 1963 March on Washington. The film, produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions, highlights Rustin’s activism, struggles, and lasting impact on the civil rights movement.
Friday, February 28: Black History Month Get-Together & Fireside Chat! Join us for an evening of socializing, celebration, and learning with prominent professors discussing Black history and excellence. Expect engaging conversations, meaningful connections, and a night to remember! More details coming soon.
