We're doing a special uke session in Geelong! Thanks to Tina G for giving me the idea. I hope you can make it, it's a beautiful part of Geelong and the venue is lovely too. There is the lovely Provenance Winery next door (come earlier to do winetasting!) and the view of the Barwon River is breathtaking. If you have uke-playing friends in Geelong, please let them know!Suggested Playlist: Songs from the 60s and 70s - but you can request other songs too - I have thousands of songs.
The venue is a cafe - food, coffees and alcohol will be available. Please support the cafe with your custom.
Please bring your own ukulele, I won't be able to supply spare ukuleles today.
The session is free but there is a donation box if you like our sessions and want to contribute to our operating expenses.
Meeting place
The Gallery Door Cafe
Shop 8, 100 Lower Paper Mills Rd, Fyansford VIC 3218
Getting there
The cafe is about 6km from Geelong Station. If you're not driving, you can take a train or replacement bus to Geelong Station, then maybe share an Uber for the final bit.
How we conduct our sessions
For the first 20-25 minutes we usually play very easy songs which are suitable for beginners (even complete beginners), and serve as a warm-up for more experienced players. Beginners, try to attend this part of the session, it's the most important bit for you! The next 40 minutes is usually devoted to learning new songs, according to the theme of week. We will then have a 10-minute break. The last 50 minutes is spent playing songs that participants pick from a list.
Important
If you are late, please use the meetup app to send messages to me. If you can't attend at the last minute, please change your RSVP or send a message. cheers,
Fi
