Explore the timeless connection between linocut and Ukrainian folktales in this playful and inspiring workshop. The linocut or print block medium is often associated with the illustrations of Ukrainian Folktales as it was often the medium of choice for illustrating these tales. They are often bold in their black and white contrast with simple line drawings and almost childlike renderings. Guided by Theodora and inspired by her unique collection of rubber print blocks, you’ll learn to design and carve your own stamp based on a Ukrainian folktale.
Participants will take home the rubber tile that you carved into during the workshop and your carving tool to continue working in this medium at home.
