Based on the 8 Prahars (time spans) of the day, this Indian Classical Music concert features morning ragas of the 2nd Prahar performed by various artistes. KAILASH PATRA – VIOLIN Hailing from a family of musicians, Kailash was initiated into music by his mother. He then trained under the tutelage of Late S.R. Kulkarni of Gwalior and Jaipur Gharana from Belgaon district, Maharashtra, and Late Padmashree D. K. Datar, the Doyen of Hindustani Classical Violin. He also got the opportunity to learn from L.K.Pandit, of the Gwalior Gharana. Recipient of the “Sangeet Natak Academy Award” by the Govt. of Odisha, Kailash Patra is a 'TOP-Grade' Hindustani Classical Violin player of All India Radio and Doordarshan, and an impaneled solo violin player of ICCR. Kailash's Baaj (playing style) to effortlessly play the 'Gwalior Gayaki Ang', typical North Indian Gamak Patterns, the clarity, his melodious sequence of notes, purity of ragas and zeal for perfection has garnered admiration amongst music lovers across the globe. Gifted with a melodious voice, he also sings the composition along with its instrumental rendering. He is a multifaceted artiste of high calibre. No late entries allowed. Gates close at sharp 7:30am.
