SHAILESH BHAGWAT – SHEHNAI Shailesh Bhagwat is the most famous and well-known disciple of Bharat Ratna Late Ustad Bismillah Khansaab. Initially trained for classical music from Pandit Aurangabadkar in Thane and Pandit Maruti Patil, Shailesh Bhagwat pursued his training in music under the able guidance of legendary shehnai artiste Ustad Bismillah Khan who proclaimed him as his cultural heir. His shehnai rendition is noteworthy for its presentation of intricate ragas like Shivmat Bhairav, Shahana Bahar, Meghranjani etc thereby evoking an emotional appeal which has a systematic blending and an improvisation of Raga in the "Gayaki Ang". The depth and range of his Shehnai has a thorough spiritual, scientific, logical and professional approach towards his Music. A recipient of several prestigious awards and an empanelled artiste of I.C.C.R, New Delhi, Shailesh Bhagwat has toured for concerts across several places within India and across the globe.
