Featuring Aarti Ankalikar Tikekar & Suresh Bapat Celebrating the 9th year of Udayswar@Prithvi the rare & truly unique acoustic experience of Indian Classical Music in the intimate Baithak style with the concept of 'Bandishes'. Over centuries veterans of Hindustani Classical music have composed Bandishes - lyrical songs representing the essence and technical aspects of each raga along with the thought and emotion set by the composer. This concert features Bandishes composed by the revered vocalist Late C.R. Vyas and will be presented by renowned vocalists Aarti Ankalikar Tikekar and Suresh Bapat with Co-artistes Yati Bhagwat (Tabla) & Siddhesh Bicholkar (Harmonium) Aarti Ankalikar Tikekar Endowed with a rich resonant voice, Aarti's performances are marked by an excellent command over both rhythm and melody. She is currently recognized as one of the top vocalists of the present generation. Her singing reflects a beautiful blend of the various gharanas she has inherited from her eminent gurus. A versatile singer, who can sing classical as well as film songs with equal ease and grace. A recipient of the National Award & Maharashtra State Award for the Konkani film 'Anternaad', she is also the main playback singer for the Shyam Benegal’s film, 'Sardari Begum'. Today, Aarti continues to enthrall music lovers across the globe with her powerful voice. Suresh Bapat Initiated into the world of Indian Classical Music at the age of 10, Suresh Bapat commenced his musical journey under the able guidance of Leela Shelar, Late Bhaskarrao Phatak and Achyut Abhyankar. Later, he honed his musical skills under various gurus like Prabhakar Karekar, Dr Ashok Ranade and Babanrao Haldankar. He has developed his own style of singing and is one of the few artistes who presents one of the most authentic and pure form of Ragadaari sangeet. Age Group 8+ For this show
