About this Event

Join this 2-day FHIR-Powered Healthcare Hackathon!

Are you a UCL computer science student or working in the NHS and eager to make a real impact in healthcare? Join us for a unique opportunity to innovate and develop applications that address healthcare challenges using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) data and APIs. The Hackathon, which is taking place at UCL, has been developed in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and pharmaceutical company, Roche. We have up to 300 places for Computer Science (CS) students and 75 tickets for clincians and NHS technology staff to join.

What is FHIR?

FHIR is a revolutionary standard in healthcare data exchange, developed by Health Level Seven International (HL7). It aims to enhance interoperability among various health information systems, leveraging modern web technologies such as RESTful APIs, XML, and JSON to facilitate seamless communication and sharing of health-related information.

Why Participate?

  • For students, apply your programming skills and creativity to create solutions that harness the power of FHIR for improved healthcare outcomes.
  • Gain practical experience with FHIR and contribute to the ongoing transformation of healthcare informatics.
  • Collaborate with peers and industry experts to develop applications that enhance patient care, streamline healthcare workflows, and contribute to the broader goal of advancing healthcare through technology.
