The time has come, for over two years we have run our every successful day skipper course. A vital document needed for Summer Sail Week, allowing you to skipper your own boat. Where: Port Solent and Solent area
When: 2 weekends, the first weekend is 11th and 12th of December. The second is a three day weekend from Friday 28th-Sunday 30th January.
How much: £479 pp (provisionally)
Who: Members of UBSC with a minimum membership of social sailing, alumni are also welcome however there will be a separate ticket price.
For those of you that don't know, the RYA day skipper qualification allows you to charter a yacht anywhere, anytime in the world. Its almost your yacht drivers license.
This course is only the practical qualification of the day skipper qualification, there is a theory component however its not necessary
to pass this prior to the practical element. It is advised that you have knowledge of sailing theory as well as chart theory (different marks, exclusion zones, transits, bearings ect), safety manoeuvres(man over board), navigation by chart and compass.
