About this Event
The Language-Art Project is an annual event at University of the Arts London (UAL). It brings together students from across the University, to create art on the theme of language. The work they produce is shown in our online exhibition.
Students come from a range of nationalities, language backgrounds and subject disciplines - and the artwork is in a dazling array of styles and media. This year, there are around 17 artworks, divided into four themed gallery pages. What unites them is that they all, in different ways, explore the meaning of 'language'.
As part of our programme of Language-Art events, we have organised an online symposium. Students from this year's Project will talk about their gallery piece and the concept behind it. More broadly, they may discuss their relationship with language, and the role this plays in their creative practice. Running time includes Q&A and open discussion.
There are two symposium dates, with different students speaking on each:
- Monday 22nd July, 15:30-17:00
- Monday 29th July, 17:00-18:30
You may book both dates if you wish, or just the one. Please note the different times too.
These events are online, and open to all. After booking, you will receive a Teams link.
