The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Zeta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota is excited to present six Ethics CEs at the 2024 UAB Ethics Conference: Do The Right Thing? As professionals in the counseling field, we often find ourselves thinking what the "right" approach, method, or answer is when it comes to dealing with the ethical dilemmas we face on a day to day basis. Through our presentations covering six unique topics, this conference hopes to shine a light on the nuance that accompanies all things ethics-related, across all things counseling-related. In this process, and throughout our careers, we aim to continue to ask the question: does that one "right thing" exist?
Topics Include:
- Counseling Fatigue: Dr. Matthew McKenzie
- Disability as Diversity: Samantha Wadsworth
- Couples and Family: Dr. Luciana Silva
- Inclusivity within the LGBTQIA+ Community: Celia Hodnett
- Complex Trauma: Andrea Whitten
- Artificial Intelligence in Counseling: Dr. Yusen Zhai
