Monday: 15th Annual Scholarly Project Research Symposium
Every student at the College of Medicine – Phoenix designs and successfully completes a hypothesis-driven research Scholarly Project (SP). Students work closely with mentors and the Scholarly Project office throughout the four years of their project. Through this process students learn about medical information literacy, life-long learning, teamwork, effective communication, research methods, evidence-based medicine approaches and ethics related to scholarly inquiry.
Tuesday: Biomedical Research: Bridging Science and Health
This event will showcase the latest discoveries by featured faculty speakers as well as undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine – Phoenix. All trainees will be invited to prepare posters to present their research findings. Top abstracts in Cardiovascular/Pulmonary, Neuroscience, and Cancer Cell Biology/Immunology will be selected for oral presentations. by March 21st!
Wednesday: 29th Annual Academic Excellence Day
The mission of Academic Excellence Day is to promote an environment of academic excellence amongst trainees in our participating institutions. The 29th Annual Michael Grossman Academic Excellence Day will provide an opportunity for residents and fellows in training programs in the greater Phoenix area to showcase the volume of bench and clinical research and quality improvement initiatives being performed. In 2025, we will be offering a hybrid format of virtual posters and an in-person oral presentation event.
This event is free and open to the public.
Thursday: 10th Annual ABRC-Flinn Research Conference
This annual research conference brings together grant awardees from the and the to showcase their research advances. This conference is an in-person event with presentations from distinguished speakers and poster presentations from grant awardees. It includes complimentary breakfast, lunch, a cocktail networking reception, and parking to those not affiliated with the U of A.
It is sponsored by the ABRC and the Flinn Foundation. This event is free and open to the public.
Friday: Grand Rounds
Grand Rounds is a weekly large group academic presentation by renowned leaders in clinical and academic specialties, appropriate for all levels of learners in medicine and science. This week's presentation will be by Dr. Sanjay Saint, MD, MPH, MACP, on mentorship in research.
Friday: Center for Biotech Research Development and Entrepreneurialism (BRDE)
The BRDE Initiative is supported by the Flinn Foundation and the Translational Research Office. It aims to foster a culture of medical innovation via translating research findings into tangible health solutions. The initiative is led by BRDE Project Manager Dong Wang, MD, PhD, and Guy Reed, MD, PhD, Dean Emeritus. Each monthly meeting explores a different component of bioscience research, development, and innovation. The series provides an open forum for researchers to discuss their translational findings, receive feedback, and gain insight on product development and funding opportunities.
Friday: RII & Research Education
The Office of Research, Innovation and Impact (RII) expands the capacity of U of A research and innovation enterprise with a focus on translating big ideas into important new knowledge and using the power of that knowledge to improve lives and communities in Arizona and across the globe. RII will provide an overview of their many services and resources that are available to support faculty and their research teams.

Parking:
Parking vouchers are only available to non-affiliated parties. Parking vouchers will not be provided to any U of A affiliates including students, faculty, staff, DCCs, or volunteers.
Please note that you must park in the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Garage (555 E. Fillmore, Phoenix, AZ 85004, located at the southeast corner of 5th St. & Fillmore) to receive a ticket that will let you exit for free. (There is a different garage across the street, but the PBC garage can be identified by its black metal siding.) Please keep the ticket you receive at the entrance. You will receive your voucher to exit when signing in at the conference.
The Campus Shuttle will also be available and runs between Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. This shuttle is free to use for Banner and University affiliates. For more information, please view the Campus Shuttle Service site.
