Nelmac Kūmānu, together with the Nelson City Council, are excited to host a community planting event at Tāhunanui Beach on Saturday 22 June (new date) from 10am till 1pm (wet weather option Sunday 23 June).Celebrating Arbor Day and World Environment Day (5 June) this is your chance to get involved by helping plant some native trees and shrubs as part of our Tāhunanui Dune Enhancement project.
You don’t need any previous planting experience, just turn up in suitable footwear, bring a spade (if you have one) and get stuck in! Plenty of fun for the family!
*BBQ serving sausages and a coffee/hot chocolate will be provided for the first 100 volunteers!

Location: Meet at the grass area to the left of the beach volleyball courts (follow the signs to find us).
What to bring: Your own spade/gloves if you have them (Some are available for use on the day) and sturdy shoes.
