The play, based on the American playwright Murray Schisgal's 'The Typists,' takes place in a mail order office with the two typists - Indrani Dasgupta, a young woman working as a typist as well as supervisor, and a young man Aniruddha Halder who is studying law at night college and thinks of his job as temporary. The play revolves around their individual dreams and aspirations, and their struggle together as companions supporting each other but never finding the courage to give their relationship a closure. TYPIST brings to light how daily struggles and responsibilities often compel one to leave one's dreams yet explores the possibility of finding love under mundane circumstances.
