Type 1 Diabetes Discovery Event & Technology Exhibition: Birmingham

Come along to our ‘Type 1 Diabetes Discovery Event & Technology Exhibition’ where you will learn about the latest developments in type 1 diabetes research, hear from speakers knowledgeable about type 1 and meet other people and families living with the condition.

This event is being held in association with the Midlands Children and Young People’s Diabetes Network.

It’s a family-friendly event, open to adults and children affected by type 1 diabetes along with health care professionals. There will be entertainment provided for primary school children that will run alongside the speaker sessions as well as peer support sessions for teenagers and young adults.

As part of the session, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the technology exhibition. Discover how technology and devices can help manage type 1, and learn more about the latest and advanced tech. It is a wonderful opportunity to see and feel the latest devices on offer to better manage type 1 diabetes.

You can also just attend the technology exhibition at a time that suits you (between 10:00 – 14:30).

During this event you will:

• Attend breakout sessions for peer support subjects to make sure the event is inclusive and tailored for all
• Meet and hear from a panel of people with type 1 where there will be an opportunity to ask questions
• Better understand what devices and technology are available to help manage your condition
• See and handle type 1 technology that interest you
• Find out how to access diabetes technology through the NHS and how JDRF can support with that
• Meet the medical technology companies themselves and have an opportunity to ask questions
• Hear from lived experience and healthcare professional speakers
• Meet like-minded individuals and hear how they manage their type 1 diabetes
• Have an opportunity to see the work of the Children’s and Young People’s Network in the Midlands
