About this Event
The TYP Philanthropy Committee is a group of TYP members committed to growing a culture of philanthropy within our membership, learning about what it means to be a local philanthropist, and providing our members with opportunities to give to the organizations and causes they care about. Once per quarter, our TYP Philanthropy Commitee meets at a local non-profit to learn about the host organization and plan the months ahead.
Join us on Nov. 19th for a tour and look behind the scenes of the Goodwill of Southern Arizona E-Commerce facility! Find out how your donations can end up on a digital platform to sell nationwide, and how the money from those sales and the ones in Goodwill retail stores fuel programs that directly impact our community. Learn about the sustainability practices Goodwill enacts to reduce shipping waste, and keeping thrift-able goods from going into landfills by giving them a second (or third) chance. In the 2023/2024 year Goodwill of Southern Arizona diverted 36 million pounds of goods from going to local landfills!
