The Peterborough, Ontario native’s (northeast of Toronto) self-coined “Red Dirt North” style mixes a fusion of modern country with southern rock flavor and is influenced by the likes of Chris Stapleton, Steve Earle and Eric Church. After racking up over 1,500,000 streams, landing both debut singles from Northern Heart, Southern Soul in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Top 10, and sharing the stage with artists like Muscadine Bloodline, Kameron Marlowe, Tim Hicks, Stephen Lee Olsen, Bryan Martin (and many more)...Ty Wilson is turning up the heat with his explosive new release, “Alabama Way.” Blending gritty, soulful vocals with the anthemic energy of classic stadium rock, Ty brings his unique “Red Dirt North” sound to the forefront like never before. “From the moment I heard this song, I knew it had to be a single,” says Wilson. “It’s a true love letter to all my friends south of the border.”
To make Northern Heart, Southern Soul, Wilson enlisted the help of Nashville based producer/drummer, Jay Tooke (The Steel Woods, Randy Houser, Wyatt Flores), to consult and perform on the album, with Texas country heavyweights Edgewater Music Group producing and engineering the eight- song LP. “My music has been very well received south of the border. I have a love for southern influenced music, so when the opportunity to record with this team in Texas happened, I had to take it,” states Wilson.
Wilson was named a winner in both Nashville’s 2024 Unsigned Only competition (“The Last Sip”) and the Texas Country Music Association’s 2024 songwriting contest (“The Last Sip”), He was crowned "Male Vocalist of The Year" at the 2024 Texas Sounds CMA.
