About this Event
Live XR events have become an important staple of the immersive marketing and entertainment industry. Since March 2021, OnBoardXR has worked to lower the barrier for live-performers and artists of all disciplines to create their first experiences with XR technology. We are excited to share our practice with TXI and connect you with a network of professionals who are passionate about the potential of live performance with XR. Attendees will experience an excerpt from a live XR musical, learn about the field of real-time XR events, and get their hands on tools they can use to build an immersive experience of their own. This workshop is perfect for game designers, filmmakers, experiential marketers, technical theater artists, and performers interested in immersive theater, mocap, or voice-over work. No technical experience required!

OnBoardXR is a community and showcase driven to educate, inspire, accelerate and empower live performing artists in the immersive web. Most of our performance prototypes are the very first time artists have brought their creative practice into XR and over 30% of our audience report OnBoardXR as their first VR experience. Since March 2021, we have produced 6 showcases, including over 50 artists and 26 world-premiere performance prototypes. Many of our artists go on to secure funding and expand their prototypes at established venues and festivals. We have presented alongside institutions such as the Augmented World Expo, FIVARS festival, PXR, the Mozilla Festival, and Poly’s WebXR awards. About the OnBoardXR and NPC teams
Brendan Bradley (Immersive Creative Producer and NPC Creator) is a multi-award winning actor, writer, director and producer known internationally as "America's Scrappy Storyteller" (AR Post) with 100+ IMDb credits, 50M+ views online and a leader in the virtual theater movement leveraging groundbreaking XR/VR tools for live performance. He established The Integrative Technology Lab at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts to foster the next generation of multi-disciplinary live storytellers. During the pandemic, he released case-studies of ubiquitous streaming tools for live performance, including a customizable virtual theater in your web browser that allows anyone to get "on" stage for free.

Clemence Debaig (Creative Technical Strategist) is a dance artist, designer and creative technologist. With a background as a dancer and creative technologist - and a previous career as a UX designer - she brings a unique perspective to choreographing interactive and participatory experiences. Her work has been presented at various venues and events, including Ugly Duck, Kallida festival, Oxo Tower, Tramshed and Open Online Theatre. She is also a lecturer and researcher at Goldsmiths University, currently exploring how motion capture technology can enable virtual collaboration between dancers in remote locations - involving Mavin Khoo (Akram Khan Dance Company) and Alexander Whitley Dance Company.

Maurice Soque Jr. (NPC Musical Arrangement and Accompanist) is a Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist and music producer who is producing and recording for a variety of artists across many genres. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Maurice has a deep passion for video games and musical theatre.

Michael Morran (WebXR Technical Architect) is a performer, director, and creative technologist passionate about integrating new technology into live events and working with talented teams of creators, designers, and engineers. He has studied and taught at NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ Drama and ITP programs. He has produced dozens of live XR events for enterprise clients such Mastercard and the Mozilla Foundation. Outside of OnBoardXR, he is currently the technical director for NPC Musical and a Developer Community Manager for the Mozilla Hubs team.
