Two Thumbs Down was started Winter 2018 in the DC suburbs by a trio of high school friends — Frontman Austin Ryder, bassist Lauren Porter, and drummer Will Diaz — with five days’ notice until their first show. Although indie punk isn’t anything new to the DMV scene, Two Thumbs Down is set apart by their distinct, manic vulnerability. Characterized by their expressive, rapid-fire vocals, energetic guitar and bass progressions, and eclectic touches of saxophone, TTD draws on indie punk heavyweights Jeff Rosenstock and AJJ as they scream into the void about aspiration, isolation, and the universally harrowing experience of getting older.

STAND AND WAVE
Newly moved to Philadelphia from Binghamton, NY, Stand and Wave blends Slacker Rock sonics with classic Party Emo fun. Co-fronted by twin brothers Pete (bass/vocals) and Jeffrey Kline (guitar/vocals), a familial understanding underlies their playful lyrics. Supporting the Kline’s are long time bandmates and friends Brian O’shea (Guitar) and Nikhil Jani (Drums). Together, the four piece band brings a high energy live set peppered with guitar solos and scream-along choruses, so hold on to your socks, lest they be rocked off.

MORNING DEW
Morning Dew are an emo screamo duo from Fallston, Maryland, delivering a quick yet bombastic set. Formed in 2014, and after rereleasing their demos under the title ‘gulp’ in 2017, they’ve stayed fairly quiet until recently announcing a new record underway.
