For many people, reading the Book of Revelation is a frightening experience. The destructive catastrophes on Earth, the cataclysmic chaos in the cosmos, and the hauntingly evil creatures that invade the world can scare us. And yet, strangely enough, the author wrote the last book of the Bible to offer hope and encouragement by presenting Jesus as the Faithful Witness, the Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb who loves, forgives, and saves! The Book of Revelation challenges us as a Church to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and live as a royal, priestly, and prophetic people. Furthermore, we are reminded quite emphatically that the opportunity to repent and be forgiven is always available. It is never too late!
The aim of these two presentations is to examine the significance of the major themes, characters, and symbols in the Book of Revelation, especially the 144,000, the number 666, Armageddon, and the Seven Golden Lampstands.
Come join us as we reflect upon this wonderfully inspiring, comforting, and challenging book!
