About this Event

Brief Summary Of Each Company:

  • Kennedy Dancers is a nonprofit NJ based professional repertory co., Inner City Youth Pre-Professional training program & dance school founded in 1976 by Diane Dragone. We bring high quality performances, dance education & professional training to children, teens & adults throughout NJ & greater metropolitan region. Since inception the co. continually transformed its programming to respond to the needs of our audience which includes young children, at risk incarcerated teens referred through the juvenile justice system, low-income families, people with disabilities, older adults, & Black, Indigenous, & People of Color (BIPOC) & Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI). The company also has a cable television show called Dance Vista which allows the dancers to be seen across 22 states on the Verizon television network.

  • In Good Company Dance (IGCD) is a contemporary dance company based in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is a woman-led, intergenerational, 501c(3) organization with a unique mission to share the healing power of movement and storytelling. They collaborate with local nonprofits and families to highlight stories of purpose amid adversity. Their performance, "Reframing Inside/Out," is not just a dance, but a powerful testament to the healing and communicative power of movement. Inspired by their work with Stephy’s Place, a New Jersey center for grief, this performance delves into emotional disconnection, reframing, and healing. It is choreographed by several company members and emphasizes the idea that we must "feel it to heal it," inviting the audience on an emotional journey.
