4WD Safari Rakaia Gorge to Ashburton Gorge via Glenfalloch and Lake Heron Stations on 1 March 2025.First time since 2016
Glenfalloch and Lake Heron Stations are owned by the Todhunter families and consist of approximately 10,900 and 20,000 hectares. They sit at the head of the Rakaia and Ashburton Gorges respectively. A privately owned track through the two stations links the Rakaia and Ashburton Gorges. Thanks to the generosity of the station owners, 4WD enthusiasts will be able to enjoy access through this spectacular part of the NZ high country.
The day will run as a self-drive safari rather than a tag-along, which means you will be able to set your own pace, take photos at your leisure, pull over and escape the dust, or enjoy a picnic cuppa, or even cool your feet in one of the many streams you will ford.
Cost: $100/vehicle.
