NEW for 2024! Make a foldover purse with Hole House!The Foldover purse is a slimline purse or clutch bag which can be made in many different fabrics. If you’ve struggled in the past with purse patterns that involve ‘hinges’ (NCW for example) because your sewing machine just isn’t up to the layers involved, this purse might be a little less stressful! It has been designed with larger seam allowances and less bulk, whilst still offering lots of pockets and card slots. There is a snap closure on the flap and hidden, invisible magnets to hold the purse closed.
Materials:
You will need to bring a fat quarter of an outer fabric and 75cm of a lining fabric. If you want to make your life easier, choose non directional fabrics for both. However, your pattern does include instructions on how to adapt the design for directional fabric, but be aware this is slightly trickier!
Your outer fabric can be anything from quilt weight cotton to tweed, but very woolly tweeds are harder to sew. Your lining fabric should be quilt weight or cotton lawn.
Suitable for intermediate sewists:
You should be confident using your sewing machine, changing the feet and keeping accurate seam allowances. Each step in the process of making this is straightforward, but there are a lot of steps. If you can work carefully and methodically, you can make this! Cutting out accurately is the key to a neat finish, you may want to bring a rotary cutter and suitable ruler to help with this. Cutting mats are provided.

Please note there is a material cost of £15 payable to the tutor on the day. This includes: zips, interfacing, interlining, snap closure, invisible magnets, pattern & instructions.
