Piet Retief is small agricultural town close to the eSwathini border and is surrounded by rolling hills of maize, soy & plantations. The marathon route's turning point is at the Assegaai River where a slow and steady climb takes athletes back to town. This is excellent Comrades preparation (also official qualifier) and the water tables at our race are always well stocked and spaced. This is a road race with an out and back route.
