Hi there! My name is Lauren and it brings me joy to bring Twirling Threads to the valley as a safe haven for expression and connection. Rhythm, movement, and dancing are key catalysts for growth and contentment in my life. Allowing myself to move freely and then discovering spaces where this action is encouraged has changed how I approach my everyday life.

As expressed in classical physics, inertia is the tendency for an object at rest to remain at rest, unless acted on by an outside force, and conversely, for an object in motion to remain in motion, unless acted on by an outside force.

This is how movement translated into life for me. Once I started allowing myself to explore my body through movement, I noticed more activity and less stagnation in my days. My actions became more fluid and even playful! Not to say moving eliminated hardship, grief, challenge, and my inner critic, but I offer myself grace when I face these things now because... well, dancing was not easy when I started either!

All it takes is one step, in one moment... and then another in the next. Everything is moving. Everything is transitory. We are meant to move and we experience movement in infinite ways; blinking your eyes open in the morning, watching your cat stretch, opening a door, flipping the pages in a book, hugging a friend, seeing cars drive by while at a red light, picking up a pencil, looking at the fluttering of leaves on a tree, threading a needle... I could go on.... FOREVER... but I digress... you get the point...
