About this Event
✨What does the movement for Black lives look like in the Valley of the Sun? How can art help us get free?✨
Grab your critical imagination and join us at the Twin Flames Listening Circle, presented on Sat., June 1 by Black River Life Collective.
Local artists, organizers and creative souls of all kinds will be on hand as we gather inside the ASU Art Museum exhibition 'Twin Flames: The George Floyd Uprising from Minneapolis to Phoenix' to discuss the impact of the 2020 protests here in the Valley, and witness a dynamic mainstage conversation between BLD PWR co-founder Tia Oso and Archwood Exchange co-founder Brotha Ali.
Participants will enjoy—
- Live poetry
- Live DJ music
- Group artmaking session
- Fellowship with liberation-minded artists & community
Tap in as we explore themes of creativity, resistance, migration, healing and African Diaspora community-building. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP required.
