Did you know that the Twelve Days of Christmas actually starts on Christmas Day?The holiday, celebrated since the 6th century, marks the day the Magi arrived in Bethlehem, having traveled for twelve days to meet the Christ Child and bring him gifts. Many of the customs associated with this holiday were absorbed into Christmas festivities made popular by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in the 19th century.
Our inaugural event last year celebrated with an early Renaissance theme.
This year's Twelfth Night will take on a distinctly Victorian flavor,
as we welcome you to an evening of Sweets and Mischief!
Bring a sweet to share, and dress in your best Victorian, Medieval or Festive Wear.
Hot wassail and other non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
Bring ivy cuttings if you have them and make a Kissing Ball to take home.
Accept a character card at the door, and you may become the Royalty of Misrule!
Some cards will also be your ticket to perform in our Plough Boy's Play!
