SETTING:
—8:30am arrival - 8:45am meeting - 9:00am serves.
—Address: 2102 New Hope Rd, Hendersonville TN 37075
COST & PRIZES:
—Costs $240 per team ($40/player for a team of six).
—There is no payout; this is a fundraiser. Winning teams will receive gift cards as prizes.
REGISTRATION:
—This tournament will be capped at 10 teams.
—Message me directly to save your team a spot.
—Captains must sign a waiver and pay in full via Venmo the week of the tournament.
ROSTER REQUIREMENTS:
—Every team must have at least two 6-rotation-females, meaning at least two of the six positions on the court must be occupied by a female throughout all six rotations.
(If a team uses a female libero to play back row for two female middles, that would satisfy the rule. If a team uses a female libero to play back row for one female middle and one male middle, that would only satisfy one of the “two 6-rotation-females.” Likewise, a male libero playing back row for two female middles would satisfy zero of the “two 6-rotation-females.”)
If you need further clarification about this rule, please ask me before you start building what could be an illegal roster.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
—Pool play followed by seeded, single elimination bracket play.
—The criteria for bracket seeding after pool play will be as follows: win-loss record, point differential, head-to-head, coin toss/odd or even/random trivia question/medieval joust.
—All teams will go to the same bracket after pool play; no upper and lower brackets with a ten team cap.
RULE HIGHLIGHTS:
—Standard indoor sixes rules apply, with the following highlight/new addition/controversial topic: DOUBLING THE FIRST, AND SECOND CONTACT IS LEGAL as long as the double contact was made in a single attempt to play the ball, and as long as the ball was not sent across the net. It's the same rule the women are using in the NCAA.
—The spiral molten ball is the default game ball.
—Any net touch during play results in a loss of point. If the ball is down before the net touch, there is no violation.
—If a lowered basketball goal interferes with play, the ball is dead. The referee must judge whether the ball could have been played had the goal not interfered. If so, the point is replayed. If not, the team that sent the ball into the goal loses the point. (A raised basketball goal functions the same as the ceiling.)
—Participants must play as their biological sex at birth.
Let me know if you have any questions.
