Be carried off to the rolling hills of Tuscany with simple dishes that illustrate the genius of Tuscan cooking. Join travel writer and Chef Instructor, Shawnie Kelley as she shares recipes from her years living in Europe and traveling through Italian countryside. The star of today’s show is Steak Tagliata - one of Italy's most popular meat dishes.
Here, grilled flank or hangar steak is served in thin slices with rosemary, fried capers and paired with peppery arugula and lemon salad with shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. A classic! And Risotto is one of Italy’s most beloved dishes, but the prospect of cooking it at home might seem daunting. It doesn't have to be! You will learn the technique for make a soul warming, creamy wild mushroom risotto that can be finished in about 20 minutes. Class ends with a traditional dessert of Florentine chocolate Budino—a sort of Italian pudding that sets up quickly and can be made in advance.
