About this Event
Ideal for: Ages 0-5 years
Albert is a real tortoise and the inspiration behind Ian Brown’s series of Albert the Tortoise books. In this fun and interactive event, Ian will share how combining real events and imagination can lead to a story idea.
Joined by his inflatable dinosaur, he’ll delve into fascinating facts about tortoises: how old they can get, are they fast or slow, do they hibernate and what they eat, plus he’ll tell you all about turtles and their dinosaur cousins. Inspired by his Albert the Tortoise series and his Hugg ‘n’ Bug books, there will be colour-in sheets, stickers and storytelling.
Ian Brown, former journalist turned TV writer and producer (credits include Top Gear, The Simpsons, This Is Your Life and The South Bank Show), is now a children’s book author. His picture books, illustrated by Eoin Clarke, include Albert Upside Down, Albert and the Wind, Albert Supersize and Albert in the Air, plus the Hugg 'n’ Bugg books Finding Home and The Comb featuring the characters of Bugg the Himalayan flea and Hugg a messy yeti.
The Hall is on the ground floor. The entrance to the Southville Centre is level with automatic doors. The main hall is light and spacious. There is pay and display parking right outside the building and the building is 5-10 minutes from a well served bus route and 20-25 minute walk from Temple Meads train station.
Please book a ticket for every attendee.
