Info: This introspective workshop will help students tap into their creative side and discover what they truly would love to do without barriers. We will explore our interests and talk about how to turn abstract ideas into real happenings. Everyone is a creative and has the ability to create the world they want to see.

Info: Taylor Love graduated in 2016 with Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from Mount Ida College in Massachusetts.
I’m a mom of 2, living in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
I have been designing and styling for going on 10 years. I have had designs on tv, celebrities and have done fashion shows all through New England.

We will be learning how to create and style garments from thought to creation!

Info: From surviving a gunshot at age 10 to losing loved ones to tragedy, my journey could have ended early. Instead, I chose perseverance. I became the first in my family to graduate college, earned a Master’s, and served as principal in four high schools. “From Projects to Principal” is more than a title—it’s proof that struggle can fuel purpose. My story shows the power of community, resilience, and transformation. Students leave with one message: your beginnings don’t define your endings—your past can ignite your purpose. This is not just my story; it’s a call to action for every young person who’s ever felt stuck, lost, or counted out.

Future Hustle | Power of the Pitch: Social Enterprise & AI Start-Ups 101
Host: Juan Wilson Jr

Info: is a fast-paced 1-hour workshop designed to spark creativity and innovation in high school students. Through interactive activities and real-world examples, students will learn what makes a social enterprise different from a traditional business and how to spot problems in their community worth solving. They’ll explore how AI tools can jumpstart “hustles” and side projects with little to no resources, then work in small groups to sketch a mini start-up plan. By the end of the session, each student will walk away with the confidence to pitch an idea that blends purpose with profit and understand how they can turn vision into action.

Your Story = Your Superpower

Every leader has a story, and so do you! Who are you? Why were you born? What’s your dream? In this fun and creative workshop, you’ll explore your voice, your dreams, and your “why” to uncover your unique purpose during this important time of your life. Through the Six-Word Memoir Project, you’ll design your own six-word autobiography and creative visual that capture your identity, dreams, and leadership journey. Walk away with confidence, clarity, and a powerful reminder that leadership starts with owning YOUR story and showing the world who you are becoming.

RICJ Sessions “Understanding Culture & Community”
Host: RICJ

Info: Rhode Island for Community and Justice (RICJ) is a social justice nonprofit dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry, and racism and promoting understanding among all races, religions, and cultures. Youth facilitators at RICJ will be running a workshop that aims to build empathy and unity in understanding the language of social justice.

RICJ youth presenters of the Rhode Island for Community & Justice (RICJ) will deliver a training overview on Restorative Justice practices as a tool to strengthen relationships between individuals and social connections within communities. RICJ will teach how the art of asking questions, circling, and I-statements can be utilized as tools to foster growth and better communication.

The Art of Healing
Host: Gemelya Barros

Info: This inspiring youth workshop, led by Gemelya, explores how art can be a powerful tool for healing, self-expression, and community transformation. Having turned her own creative journey into a pathway toward peace and resilience, Gemelya now shares her gifts through painting, singing, and community events like “Paint Nights” .

Unseen, Unspoken and Unpredictable
Host: Misty Delgado, ESQ

Info: Attorney Misty Delgado’s, lifelong connection to the communities she calls home fuels her public service. As the Chief of Staff for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), she oversees a wide range of critical operations for DCYF. In her previous role as DCYF Deputy Chief of Legal Services, she prosecuted sensitive cases involving the well-being of children. Misty's dedication is further demonstrated by her active service on numerous non-profit boards statewide, focusing on education, essential services for justice-involved individuals, and the crucial support and development of young people. Before entering state service, Misty practiced family and criminal law. She earned her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law and master’s degree in criminal justice from Roger Williams University. She is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and various federal courts.

Youth Voice & Youth Empowerment
Host: Pilar McCloud

Info: Engage youth through guided conversations that spark reflection and action. Start with prompts such as: What is advocacy? What issues affect your community? What does community mean to you? Once a theme is identified, provide tools for self-advocacy, including RI-based, national, and local resources, plus organizations youth can join. Encourage participation with giveaways for those who ask questions and share ideas. Prompts include: If you could create change, how would you do it? Who would you involve? What would that look like? Do you feel empowered to lead? What skills would you like to learn about advocacy? Do you know advocacy orgs in Providence? Have you engaged with them before? The goal is to connect conversation with real opportunities, empowering young people to see themselves as leaders and change agents.
