Raising awareness about mental health is essential—but what comes next? Turning Awareness Into Action is a half-day seminar designed to help individuals take meaningful steps toward emotional, relational, and spiritual growth. Through teaching, discussion, and practical experiences, this event will encourage participants to pursue greater wholeness and a deeper connection with God and others. At its core, this event is rooted in the belief that caring for your mental health is not separate from your spiritual journey—it’s a vital part of it. Jesus cares deeply for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. That’s why a holistic approach to wellness matters. He meets us right where we are, including in our struggles, and gently invites us toward healing, growth, and greater connection with Him. Mental health care can be a sacred part of drawing closer to Christ and into community, where we are known, supported, and equipped to live more fully in His grace.
What to Expect:
Mental Wellbeing and the Trust Trifecta Workshop:
Begin the day with Dr. Paul Johns from Messiah University as he presents his workshop on Mental Wellbeing and the Trust Trifecta.
Mental wellbeing refers to a state of emotional, psychological, and social health where individuals feel good about themselves, cope effectively with life’s challenges, and live with purpose. Through the lens of Johns’ “Trust Trifecta,” this session will explore how trust—in self, others, relationships, and God—contributes to overall mental health. Participants will consider how trust intersects with their past, present, and future, and how to grow in peace and security through a Christ-centered foundation.
Expert Panel Discussion:
Engage with a panel of five professionals representing a holistic approach to mental health—spanning therapeutic tools, physical practices, and spiritual disciplines. This panel will offer insight into a variety of accessible and effective ways to engage in your personal healing and growth journey.
Following the panel, you’ll be invited to select one experiential session to attend—based on the topic or tool that resonated most with you. These sessions are designed to take you deeper, offering hands-on guidance, spiritual reflection, or practical strategies aligned with your interest.
Experiential Opportunities:
After choosing your preferred topic area, you'll step into a guided session that allows you to practice and explore what you've learned. These experiences are meant to move your learning into action, equipping you with real tools and meaningful insights to carry forward.
Who Should Attend:
This seminar is open to anyone seeking to grow personally, relationally, and spiritually. Whether you’re navigating mental health challenges, supporting others, or simply looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus through a more integrated approach to wellbeing, this event will offer encouragement, insight, and next steps.
