Turnagain Ceramics is turning 3! Join us for an open house to help us celebrate. This event has something for everyone– The festivities will include a pottery sale, food and drinks, a giveaway, and an action-packed set of Potters’ Games, where 6 of our most skilled members will compete for hand-sculpted trophies and the glory of being named #1. Watch the competition unfold, enjoy a beverage, and shop locally handmade ceramics to help us celebrate our birthday. Read on for more details:
Pottery Sale (11-2):
Witness the skill and diverse styles of our studio members at one of our quarterly pottery sales. Are you looking for a Mother's Day gift? This sale will have everything from mugs, bowls, and plates to vases, earrings, jars, and sculptures– there's something to be found for the moms in your life in this veritable garden of pottery!
Community Art Project (11-2):
Learn the popular ceramic technique of Sgraffito while making beautiful garden markers! We prepare the clay with colorful underglaze: all you have to bring is your creative self. You may either donate your garden marker (we will sell them in our gallery to raise money to donate to the Alaska Botanical Garden!) or pay to have us glaze and fire it for a small fee (processing takes 2-4 weeks) so you can take it home to your garden.
Giveaway (11-2):
Sign up for our email list and enter to win a Turnagain Ceramics goodie basket!
Potters’ Games (Noon-2):
In April, our studio Members competed for 6 coveted spots in this competition. At this event, they will compete for fabulous prizes and the glory of winning. Watch as mud flies and allies become enemies– who will emerge victorious? This competition features four tasks, the final of which will remain a secret known only by our Operations Manager and our Events Organizer until it is announced live at this event. You may come for the skill or come for the drama, but you won’t want to miss this!
