The Turks Head is a family of knots that is properly defined as a single length of cord wrapped in a continual weave such that the knot is symmetrical in appearance and self locking. Throughout history, this balanced circular knot can be seen in pottery, tiles, and functional use. Often used for thumb pads, mats, stops (to put a bump on something, like a tiller, so your hand doesn’t slide off) it’s also used by the Boy Scouts in their scarf ring.
These Wreath is gorgeous and makes a hearty base that can be decorated according to season – welcome Spring with a bouquet of pussy willows and forsythia, add a bunch of Summer Herbs from your garden, a few springs of Autumn branches for Fall.
